2019 Irrigation Technician Training

The Indiana Irrigation Contractors Council will once again offer a full day of Technician Training at their August 22nd Field Day at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville. Enrollment is limited to 30 students for this highly professional opportunity.

Taught by Keith Schweiger of Denver, CO; this program is aimed at those who have the responsibility for servicing or installing systems on sports fields, grounds, parks, schools, residences, or commercial properties. Those registering for the event will receive a copy of Landscape Irrigation System Installation & Maintenance training manual. Lunch is also included in the registration cost.

Topics covered include:

Irrigation system overview site inspection
Installing a point connection installing/repairing field wiring
Irrigation concepts winterization
Drip irrigation proper tools
Reading blueprints reading blueprints
Installing a main line pipes and friction loss
Basic hydraulics troubleshooting

Whether you are new to the industry or an experienced technician, this class will raise your level of practical knowledge. Those attending the course will receive a formal Certificate of Completion recognizing their advancement.

The August 22nd Irrigation Technician Training program will be offered now and again at the Field Day in 2020. It will not be offered this coming winter as they are planning on a program dedicated to Electrical Troubleshooting for February.
